Mallow Garden Festival
"Kettle's on" garden
This garden was built as part of the Mallow Garden Festival. Once inside the 8ft high walls the sense of being in small quiet woodland clearing is all pervading. From the stone beehive hut entrance down a gradual slope to the stone seat at the rear, a feeling of a sunken garden is created, once sitting in the circular stone area the sense of being in a safe place is a lovely feeling.
The sound of water from the waterfall and two streams in the small moss adorned pool has a calming effect on all those who take time out in the garden. The planting scheme is very natural, lots of ferns, tree ferns, montbretia, bird trees, hazel and beech.
